The weather here in New Smyrna Beach has definitely changed overnight from highs in the eighties to highs in the sixties. Believe it or not this new weather change is welcomed and should only make the bite even better in the backwaters of New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon. The winds should start to subside by the end of the week and the air temps will start to increase. With the decreasing winds and cooler water temps look for the redfish to be tailing through out Mosquito Lagoon. The trout will also start to school up and can found in the backwaters of Edgewater and New Smyrna Beach. Shrimp and finger mullet along with soft plastics will make for good baits in the upcoming weeks.
