It seems as though winter will will not leave us here in New Smyrna Beach. We just had a small front move through bringing some windy conditions across Mosquito Lagoon for a couple of days. The fishing has been good through out the New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon waters. We have been bring good numbers of snook, trout and redfish boat side this past week. The forecast is looking really good later in the week warming back up into the mid 80’s.

Capt Patrick Rood www.spotntailcharters.com (386)566-1394 This past weekend the I F A Redfish Tour made a stop on Mosquito Lagoon. So with 72 plus teams looking for redfish weeks prior. And us everyday charter guides fishing it made for slim pickings of fish that wanted to look at a bait. We still managed to have success on the water we just had to work a little harder at it then usual. The bite was definitely a lot better closer to New Smyrna Beach away from the crowds on the water. Now that things are settling back down I can see the fish coming back to their normal behaviors. We have been catching good numbers of snook, trout, black drum and redfish from New Smyrna Beach south through out Mosquito Lagoon. The bite off the beach has been pretty good as well with cobia scooting along the coast of New Smyrna south to Canaveral.
Capt Patrick Rood www.spotntailcharters.com (386)566-1394 The bite has been good from New Smyrna Beach through out Mosquito Lagoon. We have been boating a variety of species. Like snook, trout and jacks in the backwaters of New Smyrna Beach. Along with black drum, redfish and flounder further south in Mosquito Lagoon. As the weather continues to warm and spring sets in I foresee the bite to continue to get even better.
Capt Patrick Rood www.spotntailcharters.com (386)566-1394 Just when we thought that Spring had settled into New Smyrna Beach and the Mosquito Lagoon area Mother Nature changes her mind. We will be dealing with a little cooler temps and some breezy conditions this coming week from a mild front front moving through. The bite has been good this past week from New Smyrna Beach south through out Mosquito Lagoon. We have been boating several different species from redfish, trout , snook and trout. After this front moves on I look forward to the fishing to only get better.
