This past week was a little busy in New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon with Memorial Day festivities. Although with all the boat traffic on Mosquito Lagoon the bite was still very steady. We managed to bring several redfish and trout boat side this past week. The tarpon have been showing themselves quite a bit in the New Smyrna Beach area and the snook bite has not been to bad as well. I believe with the Holiday weekend coming to an end that things will only get better from New Smyrna Brach south through out Mosquito Lagoon in the up coming weeks.

The weather here in New Smyrna Beach has officially gone from spring to summer overnight. Well at least it seems like it has with highs in the low 90’s. The weather isn’t the only thing hot right now the bite is as well. The bite has been good from New Smyrna Beach south through Mosquito Lagoon. We have been bringing several trout and redfish boat side the last couple of weeks and I foresee the bite to continue to stay good. The water conditions through out Mosquito Lagoon are still looking good and seems to be holding steady. With Memorial Day weekend coming up the boat traffic will increase in the New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon area so please be careful out there.
Capt Patrick Rood www.spotntailcharters.com (386)566-1394 The weather has been a little strange this past week in the New Smyrna Beach area. It seems as though we are now starting to get back on track with the spring time weather pattern and the fishing on Mosquito Lagoon is starting to follow. The snook bite has been steady through out the New Smyrna Beach area along with the occasional over size redfish in the mix. The trout bite in Mosquito Lagoon this past week has been very good and I predict it to only get better the next couple of months. When weather conditions permit the sight fishing has also been good through out the lagoon with several pods of redfish spread out on the shallow flats.
Capt Patrick Rood www.spotntailcharters.com (386)566-1394 Warm weather and afternoon showers is starting to feel like summer weather in New Smyrna Beach. The bite has been good through out Mosquito Lagoon with several different species coming boat side this past week. The bait is still around in good numbers from the creeks of New Smyrna Beach south to the grass flats of Mosquito Lagoon.
