I took a little hiatus from the Lagoon last week to explore San Diego California and it was a blast. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to get out on the water but we did get to meet some new furry friends.

The weather has finally seemed to calm down and allow us to get some great fishing in this past week. The trout and redfish have been chewing well along with the black drum . Look for the conditions to only get better as we start to move into a spring pattern.
Capt Patrick Rood www.spotntailcharters.com (386)566-1394 The weather here in East Central FL has been great the last few days. The clear skies and clean water has been great for sight fishing in Mosquito Lagoon. We still have a good number of schooling redfish and black drum hanging on the flats. They both have been eating live shrimp very well and also very receptive to artificials as well. The trout bite has been good as well. They can be found holding in the pot holes and on the edges of the grass flats mixed in with the bait. We have done well on soft plastics and live finger mullet with a occasional top water bite as well. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the weather continues to hold out and the nasty fronts are behind us good luck and be safe.
Capt Patrick Rood www.spotntailcharters.com (386)566-1394 Last week in between fronts opened up some great fishing on Mosquito Lagoon. We had low winds and clear skies which I can't remember the last time conditions were like that. The water clarity is excellent allowing for some great sight fishing. There has been some good numbers of both trout and redfish through out the Lagoon and the black drum can still be found from New Smyrna Beach south. Shrimp have been the go to baits and ADL spoons have been working for artificial as well.
