New Smyrna Beach & Mosquito Lagoon Inshore Fishing Report by Capt. Patrick Rood
I believe summer has officially arrived to New Smyrna Beach this past week. We have had a heat index of 100 degrees across Central FL. Mosquito Lagoon water temps have also risen making for a tough bite later in the day. We have been getting a early start and having a great bite from New Smyrna Beach south through Mosquito Lagoon. Targeting redfish first thing and then moving to trout later in the morning has been working well. The snook bite has not been bad as well you just need to have some moving water to get them active. The tarpon are in good numbers through out New Smyrna and have been feeding better at early morning and late evenings.
