The fishing here in the New Smyrna Beach area has continued to be steady . As we are starting to enter Spring things are starting to change on the waters of Mosquito Lagoon. The water has started to warm and bait has started to move up on the shallow flats. The fish have started to spread out as well ,sometimes making it a little harder to pin down. It looks as though winter is not finished with us quite yet. They are calling for a cold blast this weekend bringing the lows into the possible 40’s . With the quick warm up they are calling for I do not think it will effect the fish patterns as the water temps should not dip that low. Live shrimp and finger mullet along with soft plastics have been the key this past week.
