The bite has been good the last couple of weeks with a couple days in there where we had to work for it. With the same weather pattern continuing into next week I see it continuing to stay good. The water clarity in and around the New Smyrna Beach area has been great this past month. Both the beach and the backwaters of New Smyrna have been producing bites in and around the bait pods. Live bait and artificials have both been working well early in the mornings.
As the sun gets higher and the day gets hotter the bite has started to slow down. The bite in Mosquito Lagoon has also been good in the early mornings. The fish can found in the shallows early and then moving off the flats to deeper ledges as the day moves on. The same as the New Smyrna area , targeting bait pods with live or artificial baits has been the key.
