The weather has been perfect here in the New Smyrna Beach area for the past couple of weeks. Fortunately the fish are not self distancing themselves from us and have been chewing well. I have definitely noticed a increase of boat traffic on Mosquito Lagoon along with around the New Smyrna Beach area as well. The extra traffic has not been a issue because the majority of the fish have been extremely shallow this past week. We have been boating most of our trout and redfish on live finger mullet and cut bait but they have also been receptive to artificials as well. We still have a large number of black drum patrolling the south mosquito Lagoon. These guys have been chewing well on shrimp and crab and will eat imitations as well. The snook bite has also been good throughout the Daytona Beach area this past week. Look for the right tide with moving water near structure and they will be there waiting on a meal.
