This has definitely been the windiest March and April that I can remember for a long time. With the wind though has brought some good fishing throughout the New Smyrna Beach area. We have been bringing several different species boat side along with several slams as well. With weather permitting the redfish have been working the shallow flats of Mosquito Lagoon pushing small baits and shrimp out of the mud. The trout bite has started to come around as we have had a influx of mullet schools across the flats. The snook bite has been good as well , as they have been hanging on shorelines with structure and bait. A variety of soft plastics and plugs have been working well along with live finger mullet and shrimp. I’m hoping the weather will be settling down over the next week or so to allow for some easier conditions.
