I’m not sure if I’m just getting old or what but this past week was insanely hot on the water but it did not effect the bite. The trout and snook have been chewing well with the redfish getting in the mix as well. The bait continues to be plentiful throughout the waters of New Smyrna Beach. The trout and snook have been receptive to both live bait and artificial early in the morning. The bite seems to be slowing down by mid morning so getting out early has been the key. Plugs , spoons and soft plastics have been working good for redfish and trout as well as live finger mullet, pin fish and pigfish. The tarpon have been hit or miss this past week and have been very selective to when and what they want to eat. It looks like the weather will continue to be toasty for a while so I guess I just need to get use to it. 😂
