The bite has been staying steady throughout the New Smyrna Beach waters. We have been boating several different species the last couple of weeks. The bait has really moved into the backwaters in good numbers this past week. Target the bait pods early with plugs and spoons. As the day moves on move to the edges of the flats throwing soft plastics or live bait. The redfish, snook and trout have all been chewing well and the occasional tarpon has been making an appearance as well. Looks like the weather will continue to be good though next week so the fishing should continue to be good as well.
