This past week and weekend was a little crazy on the water in New Smyrna Beach. To say it was a busy 4th of July on the water would be a understatement. Even with the increase of traffic on the water we still stayed on a good bite bringing several redfish and trout boat side. The weather conditions this past week were not allowing us to do to much sight fishing due to rain and clouds. We focused on the bait pods and edges for the majority of our bites. We also played with some tarpon this past week as well jumping a couple. Plugs have been working well early in the morning and then moving to live bait as the sun gets higher. It looks like we will have a little more weather this coming week but should clear out by the end of the week making for some good fishing in the near future.
