It seems as though the winds have hopefully started to lay down. The bite has continued to be good throughout the New Smyrna Beach area. We have been boating several species on the daily from redfish and black drum to trout and snook. I have started to see quite a bit of mullet moving through the area and should continue as the months move forward. The redfish and trout have been holding in the shallows mixed in with the bait. Live shrimp, finger mullet and artificials have all been working well. The snook and black drum have been holding in the deeper water focusing on the shrimp that have been running this past week. The bite should continue to only get better as we move into the month of May and the weather should continue to stable as well .
