New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon Inshore Fishing Report by Capt. Patrick Rood
The bite has been good this past week with some nice redfish and trout coming boat side. The redfish have been tailing early and have seem to quit by mid morning. The trout are still mixed in and around the schools of bait through out the backwaters of New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon. The water clarity has been a issue the last couple of weeks. North up towards New Smyrna there has been some cleaner pockets not a lot but some. South in Mosquito Lagoon I have not found much of any clean water but like I said before the fish are there it just makes it a little more challenging. It looks like we will be seeing some winter like conditions toward the end of the week and hopefully this will start the process to cleaner water. I would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
