The weather here in New Smyrna Beach has been a page out of the chamber of commerce book. We have had clear skies and mid 80’s the past few days and looks to continue to get warmer. We are still bringing several different species boat side from snook to black drum. Look for the snook and Jacks to be holding up north around the New Smyrna backwaters. Target structure and deeper shorelines with both artificial and live bait for best results. Further south throughout Mosquito Lagoon you can find red fish, trout and black drum. Look on the shallow flats that are holding bait early then move to the deeper edges as the day moves on. Shrimp, cut bait and soft plastics have been working well to trigger a bite.
