I can not believe that it is already Thanksgiving. It feels as though this year has just flown bye. But with Fall like weather in the air here in New Smyrna Beach brings great fishing throughout the backwaters of Mosquito Lagoon. The recent cold fronts this past week had brought the water temps down in the shallow waters of Mosquito Lagoon sending a lot of the fish to mud flats and sand holes for warmth. The same thing as the New Smyrna Beach area as well the fish could be found holding in coves or bays with a shallow mud bottom. A good choice of bait this time of year is shrimp or cut bait do to the fish are sometimes not willing to use a lot energy to feed. The water clarity has really improved throughout Mosquito Lagoon making it great for sight fishing as well. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving !
