The weather has not been the only thing hot in New Smyrna Beach this past week. With several double digit days on Mosquito Lagoon this past week I would say the fishing is still good. The trout have been chewing well early in the shallows and moving to deeper water as the day moves on. The redfish have been spread out across the flats and there has also bern some breeders working their way out to the inlets as well. We still have a large number of jacks , lady fish and tarpon throughout the ICW in New Smyrna. All of these species have been very receptive to live bait along with some variety of artificials presented correctly.
