I believe summer has arrived in full effect here in the New Smyrna Beach area. The temperature is hot and the fishing is as well. We have had a good amount of bait move in throughout Mosquito Lagoon and north into the backwaters of New Smyrna. The trout and redfish can be found mixed in with the bait pods. Shrimp and live finger mullet have been working well along with spoons , soft plastics and plugs.
The snook are still chewing well . They have been hanging around all kinds of structure from New Smyrna beach south through Oakhill. Shrimp and plugs have been working best to trick the snook. The water temps have also warmed up and our tarpon are really starting to get happy making regular appearances throughout the backwaters.
