It has definitely not felt like winter this past week and looking at the weather for next week it looks to continue on this trend. The fish were starting to get into a winter time pattern throughout Mosquito Lagoon until the weather took a turn and warmed the water temps back up. The same go’s for the New Smyrna Beach area as well , they have kinda fell back into a fall time pattern with food on their minds instead of survival. Look for the redfish , trout and black drum to be cruising the shallows looking for a easy meal. The snook can still be found hanging around and in structure along with sheepshead as well. Live shrimp, mud minnows and finger mullet have been working well. Since the water has warmed back up a bit plugs and spoons have been working well along with soft plastics for the artificial bite.
