This is starting to sound like a broken record but the winds can settle down anytime now. Last week we had a front move through bringing with a little cooler weather and a whole lot of wind but we still got them to chew. The water clarity is still good and the bait is still hanging around. The redfish and trout have both been swimming with the bait pods. We have brought several boat side using both artificials and live baits. On the windy days the ADL spoons have worked great to pluck them out of the sand holes. There is also a good number of black drum schools holding between New Smyrna and south Mosquito Lagoon. Live shrimp and crab imitations have worked best to trick these guys. I'm looking forward to the weeks to come with the fishing only to get better. Capt Patrick Rood www.spotntailcharters.com (386)566-1394 Click on an image to expand.
