After our recent cold fronts here in the Central Florida area the fish have started getting into their Fall patterns. Look for the trout , redfish and black drum to be holding over the sand and/or mud bottoms . These bottoms hold the warmth from the sun much better then the grass providing them with the water temps they like.
We still have bait throughout the area but they to have moved into a fall time pattern as well. The bait can be found in numbers in the deeper water edges and holes not so much in the shallows as the water is a bit warmer in the deeper holes as well. The bite has been good on both artificials and live bait and with the water clarity the sight fishing has been outstanding. It looks as though we will have another front moving in to secure these habits coming into the weekend. Capt Patrick Rood www.spotntailcharters.com (386)566-1394

Then water level has been this past week due to some easterly winds and full moon tide swing. The bite was still steady while focusing on the areas that were holding bait worked the best.
As we get back to a normal tide swing this week I foresee the bite continuing to get better and with a possible cool front moving in by mid week should help as well. Spoons, soft plastics and live bait have all been working well along with cut bait also. Contact us today to plan your Mosquito Lagoon or New Smyrna Beach fishing charter! Capt Patrick Rood www.spotntailcharters.com (386)566-1394 Here we are into mid November and still with highs near 90 and the possibility of a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. But with all the craziness of weather the bite continues to be strong throughout the New Smyrna Beach and Mosquito Lagoon waters.
We continue to have plenty of bait on the flats making for an abundance of life . Artificials and live bait have both been working well making for an enjoyable time catching fishing on the water. The weather looks to be stable moving into the weekend and then possible storms mid week depending on approaching storm. Capt Patrick Rood www.spotntailcharters.com (386)566-1394 The fishing continues to stay strong throughout Mosquito Lagoon and the backwaters of New waters of New Smyrna Beach . We have been dealing with some isolated showers the last few days but it has not affected the bite.
The weather looks to be stable into the weekend making for some great fishing days. The bait continues to flood the flats with a lot of life in and around the bait pods. Plugs early and then moving to spoons and soft plastics have been working well along with a variety of live bait like pinfish, finger mullet and shrimp.
