The last couple of weeks of weather in New Smyrna Beach has been a roller coaster ride to say the least. We have gone from cool air temps and windy conditions to mid 80’s and no wind. This unbalanced weather has thrown the fish in Mosquito Lagoon for a temporary loop. The shift in winds has made for higher water conditions throughout Mosquito Lagoon allowing you to fish areas that you normally could not access. The bite has been good on both artificial‘ sand live bait. The trout and redfish have been receptive to plugs, soft plastics and ADL Spoons. They have also been chewing well on live bait like finger mullet, mud minnows and shrimp. It looks like we are heading into a couple of days of a cold front with strong winds and cool temps but should not last long and will only make the bite better.
