So it seems as though winter has a strong hold on us here in Central FL. The wind has been relentless on the coast in New Smyrna Beach and across the open waters of Mosquito Lagoon. The air temps have not been getting out of the low sixties for the past few days and lows in the mid forties. We have definitely had to bundle up while out on the water. It looks like we will still be dealing with the winds this week through out New Smyrna Beach but looks like air temps will start to rise later in the week. The water temps in Mosquito Lagoon are quite chilly right now forcing our trout and redfish into the sand holes and on the mud flats. As the day moves on ADL Spoons and soft plastics have been a good choice for artificials. Shrimp, mud minnows and finger mullet have been doing well on Mosquito Lagoon as well. Good luck and stay warm out there.
