With the recent cold blast that we have received here in central Fl it has caused the water temps to plummet through out New Smyrna and Mosquito Lagoon. unfortunately we have had some casualties do to the extreme cooler water temps. The snook and tarpon can not handle the long periods of cold water which will cause there systems to shut down. On the horizon there looks to be normal weather arriving back here in sunny Central FL in the coming days.
The water levels have dropped and water clarity is pristine for sight fishing, all we need is the winds to lay down a bit and fishing should be back to normal. The redfish and black drum have been in there winter time patterns along with the trout. look for the redfish to be holding in the pot holes along side the trout gathering the warmth from the bottom. The black drum can be located cruising the mud flats searching out there next meal.
Good Luck and be safe!
